Brad and I had an awesome Christmas and New Years. Our time away in BC was very refreshing for both of us. It was great seeing all of Brad's family, and we were able to catch up with a bunch of old friends. The wheather was wonderful for the majority of the time, but of course we couldn't escape the typcical BC rain.(hehe) Gotta love that Saskatchewan sun! We did so many fun things over the holidays. Brad's parents took us all to Semiahmoo, Washington on Christmas day, and we stayed the night in an amazing resort. It is just over the border in Washington and the hotel is surronded by water. We met up at the resrot with Brad's uncle, aunt and cousins and we all played games and went swimming. The food was incredible, I had the best eggs benedict I have ever had. Another hightlight for us was going tubing up on Cyprus Mountain with a number of friends. We also had the oppurtunity to go Body Worlds with Brad's mom and dad. It gave us an up close look on the inner workings of the human body. It was quite interesting. It showed real human bodies that have been plasticised( the skin removed) Sounds a little of gross, but it made me think of how intricately God has created each of us. For New Years, Brad and I got free tickets to an Abba impersonation group at the cassiao in Vancouver. It is a beautiful hotel , and we spent our night dancing to the familair tunes of "mama mia," "dancing queen" and many more favorites. They sounded exactly like the original group.
The only sad thing that happened over the holiday was putting Brad's family's cat (Kymo) to sleep after almost 18 years. He was very sick and it was the best thing to do for him. It was a very sad event, and he will be missed by all. In the Funston family Kymo was the the little prince so you can imagine how hard it was to say good-bye. On a more positive note our time with Brad's family was wonderful. We are grateful and thankful for everything they gave and did for us. Brad's mom cooked so many delicious meals, and we wanted to say "thanks again for all you did and for your hospitality." Pictures to come.. blogger won't let them come currently.
